The Randomness Of eBay

I was browsing through the crazy adventure club of the interweb known as eBay the other day and I came accross some really weird auctions that I thought I'd share here.

1940's-1950's Robot
Look at this guy.....It's a really old robot that's probably ust and bunch of hollow sheet metal. The randomness about this robot though is that the starting bid for it is $225,000. Thus far no one has placed a bid on him.

eBay's First ET Alien baby Potato Chip

The title alone says it all. It's a freaking potato chip...POTATO CHIP. It's so ridiculous that I'm surprised no one has bid on it yet. The starting bid id $9.99, and thankfully like I said, no one has bid on it.

Last but not least...

Pecker Coffee Cup

I think this just speaks for it self....No need it bid, it's a Buy It Now at the price of $1.99. Worth the price if you're into that kind of thing.

Wanna Thug It Out Bitch? Let's Thug It Out.

Last week, I gave out a very prestigious and regal award to the RIAA. This week it's time to give some props to the bastard child or the ugly sister of the entertainment industry, the MPAA. The Motion Picture Association Of America has been around a while now and it's made some choice decisions in the way that it does business. Before I get on with the normal award ceremony I think we should take a look at what the MPAA really is.

According to Wikipedia:
The Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA), originally called the Motion Pictures Producers and Distributors Association, is a non-profit trade association based in the United States which was formed to advance the interests of movie studios. Its members consist of the so-called "big seven" major Hollywood studios: Buena Vista (Walt Disney Company), Sony Pictures, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (part of the Sony/Comcast joint venture), Paramount Pictures (Viacom), 20th Century Fox (News Corp.), DreamWorks, Universal Studios (NBC Universal), and Warner Bros. (Time Warner) The organization produces the well-known voluntary film rating system.

So, the MPAA is just a group of competitive business watching out for each other. That's understandable I suppose. I mean think about what would happen if this organization didn't exist. The Hollywood studios would be in constant competition with each other over little things. They themselves would have people planted in rival businesses trying to leak their blockbuster movies to the masses. Basically doing what the internet "pirates" are doing now, but they'd being doing it with malice.

I really don't have an award to give to them this week since they really haven't done anything recently to earn any kind of awards and that does include the releases of every movie made over the past 3-4 years with the exception of a select few.

Nope, this week I just have a memo. It's a memo from years ago to the MPAA from one of the creators of South Park Matt Stone. I think it basically speaks for itself.

Whois Back?????

That's right kiddies. I'm back once again with another incarnation of TWTBNS. I promise that this will be updated weekly or more than weekly. But, I'd like to start some kind of weekly feature which awards excellence in numerous categories.

This week, I'd like to give props to the RIAA. Yes, the RIAA. The Recording Industry Association of America deserves a huge hug because they (as they've claimed) have "contained" illegal song-sharing. By issuing cease-and-desist orders to such sites as BearShare, Grokster, and WinMX they've successfully shut down the use of those sites for sharing songs. Good for them, if they would've done that 5 or 6 years ago when people were actually using those programs, it might have meant something. But unfortunately for them the song-sharing pirates have moved onto bigger and better programs for downloading illegal music. Now, when they shut down bit-torrent altogether, along with soulseek and limewire, that might actually mean something. Until that happens, I'd like to award the RIAA with our award of the week.
