Microsoft and the Windows Of Your House

Well, after a thoughtful war against piracy of Windows XP it seems that Microsoft has given up and waved the little white flag. Australian IT has reported that Microsoft has dropped the use of the Windows Genuine Advantage program that was installed when Windows updates itself. Everytime a computer would boot-up Windows the program would check to see if the copy they had was a verifed copy that was purchased, not pirated. If it was a pirated copy then the user would get a series of irritating notices. US users had already filed lawsuits against the company for using the programs as "spyware". So, Windows pirates feel assured about putting in that burned install disc you have. You might even be able to get the updates now!!
Just wait to see what they have in store with Windows Vista.....maybe they'll have technology to take over your whole computer and eat your head for pirating their software.
