Brand Nizzle Vs. TBS

Ok, this is what happens when I'm really bored. I listen to music and go through lyrics of songs I like. Most of the time I end up looking up lyrics for emo music because their lyrics are the closiest thing our generation is gonna get to mainstream poetry. So, I've been comparing the lyrics of two of my favorite bands to listen to. Of course the lyrical similarites are no news to an emo kid such as
Nick there are others such as myself that never really paid attention to it before. So, here is Brand New vs. Taking Back Sunday.

Round 1

There's No "I" in team
By Taking Back Sunday

"Is this what you call tact?
I swear you're as subtle as a brick in the small of my back
so let's end this call,
and end this conversation
there's nothing worse...
(that's right he said, that's right he said it)
I swear, you have no idea
The jealousy that became me thinking
(that's right he said)
that you always had it way too easy "

Seventy Times 7
By Brand New

"And is that what you call tact?
You're as subtle as a brick in the small of my back.
So let's end this call, and end this conversation.
and is that what you call a getaway?
well tell me what you got away with.
cause you left the frays from the ties you severed
when you say best friends means friends forever"

Round 2

Slowdance on the Inside
By Taking Back Sunday

"Passed out in our school clothes so we'd wake up in our Sunday's best
I never asked for your opinion, I just got it and I get it
You move slow like daytime drama
And I'm boring like his songs
So while I'm taking you for granted
We'll be humming along"

Soco Amraretto Lime
By Brand New

"Passed out on the overpass
Sunday best and broken glass
Broken down from the bikes and bars
Suspended like spirits over speeding cars
You and me were kings over the parkway tonight
And tonight will go on forever while we
walk around this town like we own the streets
and stay awake through summer like we own the heat
Singing "everybody wake up (wake up) it's time to get down"
(everybody, everybody wake up its time to get down)
And when I pass the bottle back to Pete
on the overpass tonight, I bet we laugh"

Round 3

There's no "I" in team
By Taking Back Sunday

"And I've got a twenty-dollar bill
that says you're up late night starting
fist fights versus fences in your backyard
Wearing your black eye like a badge of honor
Soaking in sympathy
from friends who never loved you
nearly half as much as me"

Mixtape
By Brand New

"I got a twenty-dollar bill that says no one's ever seen you without makeup.
You're always made up.
And I'm sick of your tattoos,
and the way you always criticize the Smiths... and Morrissey.
And I know that you're a sucker for anything acoustic.
But when I say let's keep in touch,
I really mean I wish that you'd grow up.
This is the first song for your mixtape.
It's short just like your temper,
but somewhat golden like the afternoons we used to spend before you got to cool..."

I will bite my thumb at them, which is a disgrace to them, if they bear it.

I have to get up at 4:20. Pick up Jake, and be to work by 5:45. This is gonna suck ass. I can't fall asleep so, I'm watching Romeo and Juliet because I can't think of any other movies to watch right now. This movie is kinda depressing but that's the nature of it.

Romeo: Is love a tender thing? It is too rough, too rude, too boisterous, and it pricks like thorn.
Mercutio: If love be rough with you, be rough with love. Prick love for pricking and you beat love down.

Yeah, love needs to be beat down every now and then. I'm not even sure what love is anymore, it's been a while since I've really felt it. I know what lust is, that one is pretty easy to figure out. And I'm pretty sure I've made love before, not just fucking around, but the general feeling of love has escaped me for so long I'm not sure what it feels like anymore. Either way, I do know it hurts, I can remember that much.

Exit Light.....Enter Night

Well, while talking to a cute blonde last night I was suddenly faced with nothingness. Couldn't see a damned thing. Just blackness everywhere. So, I did what everyone else in a situation like that should do, cracked open a beer and talked until my phone died. I eventually got sick of being stuck in the dark and ventured out to find power. I found it and played some Halo 2. By the time I got home everyone was sleeping and the power was back on. YAY!.

Happy Thanksgiving.

eh.

Went to 6-Shooters tonight. Yeah, that was fun, not really. I like hanging out in the band room a lot more than I do hanging out with the dance club crowd. Totally not my type of bar, I prefer my hole in the wall type bars that aren't really busy, but still have a decent amount of people that are talkative. I'll probably only hit there on a college night if a decent band is playing there, other than that, not my thing.

"A Decade Under The Influence"

Sad, small, sweet, so delicate
We used to be this dying breed
I got a bad feeling about this
I got a bad feeling about this

You kept still until the long drive home
You slept safe and close to the window...
I got a bad feeling about this
I got a bad feeling about...

Who's to say you'll have to go (I could go all night)
Well say you'll have to go (I could go all...)
To hell with you and all your friends
To hell with you and all your friends, it's on

Sad, small, sure in porcelain
You're skin and bones, I'm a nervous wreck
I got a bad feeling about this (when it comes to this)
I got a bad feeling about this

You kept still until the long drive home
You slept safe and close to the window
I got a bad feeling about this
I got a bad feeling about...

Who's to say you'll have to go (I could go all night)
Well say you'll have to go (I could go all...)
To hell with you and all your friends
To hell with you and all your friends, it's on

I got a bad feeling about this (what is this for?)
I got a bad feeling about...

Anyone will do tonight
Anyone will do tonight
Close your eyes, just settle, settle
Close your eyes, just settle, settle
Anyone will do tonight
Anyone will do tonight
Close your eyes, just settle, settle
Close your eyes, just settle, settle
Anyone (anyone) will do tonight
Anyone (anyone) will do tonight
Close your eyes, just settle, settle
Close your eyes, just settle, settle

Well I got a bad feeling about this,
I got a bad feeling about this (to hell with you and all your friends, it's on).
I'm coming over but it never was enough
I thought it through and my worst brings out the best in you
Well I got a bad feeling about this
I got a bad feeling about this (to hell with you and all your friends, it's on)
I'm coming over but it never was enough
I thought it through and my worst brings out the best in you
Well I got a bad feeling about this
I got a bad feeling about this (to hell with you and all your friends, it's on)
I'm coming over but it never was enough,
I thought it through and my worst brings out the best in you
Well I got a bad feeling about this,
I got a bad feeling about this (in you...).
I'm coming over but it never was enough,
I thought it through and my worst brings out the best in you
I got a bad feeling about this,
I got a bad feeling about this (in you...).
I'm coming over but it never was enough
I thought it through and my worst brings out the best in you
I got a bad feeling about this,
I got a bad feeling about this,
I got a bad feeling about this (I am you)
I got a bad feeling about this (I am you)
I got a bad feeling about this (I am you)
I got a bad feeling about this (I am you)
I got it bad (I am you)
I got it bad
I got it bad
I got it bad
I got it bad
I got it bad

No thoughts here..

I can't think of any kind of update. So, here's music lyrics from Brand New. It's at least some kind of update.

If it makes you less sad, I will die by your hand.
I hope you find out what you want.
I already know what I am.
And if it makes you less sad, we'll start talking again.
And you can tell me how vile I already know that I am.
I'll grow old and start acting my age.
I'll be a brand new day in a life that you hate.
A crown of gold. A heart that's harder than stone.
And it hurts a whole lot, but it's missed when it's gone.
Call me a safe bet. I'm betting I'm not. I'm glad that you can forgive.
I'm only hoping as time goes, you can forget.
If it makes you less sad, I'll move out of the state.
You can keep to yourself. I'll keep out of your way.
And if it makes you less sad, I'll take your pictures all down.
Every picture you paint, I will paint myself out.
It's cold as a tomb, and it's dark in your room, when I sneak to your bed to pour salt in your wounds.
So call it quits or get a grip.
Say you wanted a solution. You just wanted to be missed.
Call me a safe bet. I'm betting I'm not.
I'm glad that you can forgive.
I'm only hoping as time goes, you can forget...
You are calm and reposed. Let your beauty unfold.
Pale white, like the skin stretched over your bones.
Spring keeps you ever close. You are second hand smoke.
You are so fragile and thin. Standing trial for your sins.
Holding onto yourself the best you can. You are the smell before rain.
You are the blood in my veins.
Call me a safe bet. I'm betting I'm not.
I'm glad that you can forgive.
I'm only hoping as time goes, you can forget.

Drunkeness is funny

So, I got up this morning and I checked the messages on my phone. I received one around 12:30am. Here is how it goes down,

"Randy! Where are you? I'm here all alone on a friday night! You know this kid is yours! You have to come take care of your kid!"

Yeah, I don't remember getting a girl pregenant recently, or at all for that matter. After making a few calls, I still had no idea who this was. Eventually my friend J and I called it. It was a girl from work. She was trying to keep it going by having no one tell me it was her, but that doesn't work to well at the Media Play.

In other news, Jake might have a job out at Media Play at least for the holidays, which is a good thing.

It's almost done

I've been working on organizing my room for like the past week. It's coming along swimmingly. Half of it is done, not quite sure what to do with the other half yet. But at least I have a decent place to keep my alcohol now.

Feeling Gamish?

There is no Halo 2. It doesn't exist, you're just playing a simulation of Halo 1, it's all just an illusion, to keep you occupied while the unthinkable is happening.

Microsoft is trying to take over the world, but not just the electronic world, I'm talking the whole F'n world. While the nerds that normally keep them in check and talk about how bad Microsoft is, are all playing their Halo 2 or debating on if Halo 2 is better than Halo 1 or anything like that, Microsoft is building a mass army readying itself for world conquest. Giant Mechs have been built, hell they've ever be training people for years without us knowing it. Who really needed a $200 controller for a Mech game huh? Those tiny little soldiers that are bound to control the real Robot Tanks, that's who.

MechAssault and Steel Batallion weren't just video games...they were battle plans. SO, while the people of the world are out in the world have Halo 2 on the brain, watch out for the Big M to come and destroy your town faster than a Covenant Brute.

11/7/2004

Isn't this a little bit illegal?

Ok, not that I'm a stickler for the rules or a law abiding citizen or anything, but we all know downloading music isn't legal.

So, with that said, when the new Eminem album leaked to the internet a few weeks before its release, it seems the only thing I hear on the radio now is downloaded tracks from his new album. There are at least 3 stations in our area that have played the album the whole way through. What the Fuck? This can't be right. And so for no one has stopped them from doing so. I find that kind of retarded.

Just One More

Alright, I'm sure everyone is sick of reading posts about the election already, but you're gonna have to put up with at least one more.

Ok, I've decided that Kerry made a lot of mistakes in his election campaign. I mean that's pretty obvious since he lost. The Democrats attacked Bush by saying that the War in Iraq is his fault, so get him out of office. While I totally agree with all of that, there was another point of view that really could've swayed the voters minds.

He should've went after their wallets. Kerry should have mentioned how much this war was costing us in taxes. All this money could've been going towards healthcare and education, or any other number of things within our country.

This of course did not happen though, and Kerry lost the current President. A President that never once citied one thing he has done in the past four years, other than letting the 9/11 attacks happen, but we're suppose to vote him in for four more years for that, and America did. He ran a campaign based on fear and homophobia and he got the religious voters out because it's "not what god wanted." Well, if that's the case, I don't know what God wants anymore. Evidently God loves to see unnecessary war, but sees a gay couple as icky.

The Morning After

Welcome to the year 2000. I woke up to check the election coverage. Let's see I'll check CNN. Ok Bush=254 Kerry=252. Alright not bad, Kerry can still turn this around.Hmm, now over on Fox News Bush=269 Kerry=242. What the fuck? Wait, aren't we in the year 2004? Leave it up to Ohio to become the Florida of this election. God Dammit.

In other election news, my dad won his election, well, he was unopposed so it really wasn't much of a contest. He did manage to get 1043 votes though. My Uncle Bob also ended up winning his election over Sholtz by 34 votes. He ended up only taking 2 Townships, but he still won the election.

One thing that really pissed me off is that both proposals went through. I really don't care about the gambling one, it's just gonna make more work and give a monopoly to the Native American run casinos. The one that I'm really concerned with is Prop. 2. There was no need to make it a constitutional amendment, but I'm sure the religous right got the church vote out to pass this thing.

For a country that's been built on the idea of freedom, we seem to want to enforce our own ideals on everyone else in the world, while taking away our own freedoms.

On another note, if anybody comes right out and tells me they voted for Bush, I want to see their enlistment papers. They brought it upon themselves, they should be willing to go and fight because that's obviously what they wanted. I also predict gas prices will probably reach somewhere around $3.00 because the price of oil has never really went down in the past few years and it's probably only gonna get higher.

Ahh, the memories

I'm feeling a little nostalgic. You see, The Verve Pipe is getting back together for a one time performance at a benefit show. I was really into them when I was in middle school, and when I hear their music it brings back a lot of memories.

The show is this Friday at The Temple Theater. Tickets are $15. I"m really interested in checking this out. If anyone else is going, let me know.

"Kids! KIDS!!...Let's pretend drugs and alcohol are Bad!"
