Sober Teen = Dangerous Teen
Ok, after my 2 latest concert experiences. I'm come to the realization that sadly enough a show on Comedy Central actually brings up some good points.
Let me explain..
Ozzfest was awesome and had a nice amount of people there. It also had some insane pits and there were a lot of people that got a little bloodied up, but they knew what they were getting into. They had the choice to get into the pit or not. If you didn't want to be in the pit you could just take a step back and people respected your decesion to not get your ass kicked. I had my personal space and everyone else had their own space and I was still fairly close to the stage. Even during the Slipknot set, I still had my space and had a clear view of the stage. It was good times, I could rock out and not have to worry about someone nailing me in the head from behind, why is this? Well, since it was a metal show there was so much beer and weed that no one really gave a damn and just wanted to have a good time.
Now, Warped Tour on the other hand. There was still a lot of beer going, but generally it was a younger crowd. This crowd gave a damn. They wanted to be right there watching their favorite band. They wanted to be as close as possible to the stage, even if it ment basically humping the person in front of them. Even if that ment guy on guy action, or girl on girl as the case may be. But let's face it, most of those kids were straight edge. All pent up with emotions and full of anger. That's where the problem is. If ya would've given them some weed or something before the concert they probably would've been a little more mellow and paranoid. What do you do after you smoke some weed? Most of the time you just sit there and not talk, which can kinda freak you out if you're with a group of people. Plus think how much more money they would've made off the concession stands if everyone had the munchies. It's better for the economy people! But, I digress.
So, Ozzfest was mellow, but still rocked and Warped Tour was violent, but still rocked. It's weird how those things turn out.
