Do I listen to Pop Music because I'm miserable? Or am I miserable because I listen to Pop Music?
Hmm, good question. As a quote from the movie "High Fidelity" It raises many many thoughts in my head. For one, I do listen to Pop music, it is my little taste of sin. But, as far as I'm concerned, it depresses me nonetheless.
Due to the internet downloaders, yes me included, the music industry won't change the music. Every music company that matters, will only keep signing the same crappy bands that all sound alike. So we are stuck with the same shit on the radio, regergitating what the bands of the late 90's came up with and keep doing the same thing, over and over. To think that some day a band will be inspired by a smile empty soul album and base there music after that. But really it'll be bases off any rock band in our era. Same thing can be said about any pop artist or any rap artist. The music industry needs a swift kick in the ass, something different. Arrgh!! Just thinking about it makes my head hurt. Alright I'm done.
